that is solid advice while this is not a virus it is what your AV would title a PUP (these are what any unsigned applications are labeled by most antivirus a PUP simply stands for "Potentially" unwanted Program (in other words hi im the AV and this is an unsigned application you need to give me permission to run as the admin)
I had to simply make an exception in windows defender for the exe
(see this for how to do so)

Then run as admin and it resolved those issues on windows 10. I hope it will yours as well, because once running this is the best trainer option imo, its a really great program and c8 here keeps it updated nicely. I have used countless home-brew applications that were false flagged as "pups" and so this is nothing new or unexpected when using home brew applications.
Below are 3 screens showing windows prompt me that it is a unknown publisher (unsigned application or home brew) and that it runs perfectly once i click "more info" then run anyway. Chances are pretty good that your AV or windows defender is preventing it from working properly by your description, I had a similar issue i hope this helps
