No he meant that you can kill them faster and he is totally right... let's say a

X monster is lvl 100--> Exp 5
Y monster is lvl 95-->Exp2

Time to kill X = time to kill 3Y monster= 5 minutes.
So in 5 minutes you get 5 Exp in case of X
in 5 minutes you gain 6 Exp in case of Y
