As long as berkay doesn't make any new changes to the dealer then you can save that file you are making changes to and replace it in any new updates (always keeping a backup of the original of course)

Anyone here ever get the chance to play beta? I wish I did but I never had the chance to. I didn't find out about NFSW until it was fresh out of beta ironically.

I miss the old days back in 2010 when we had tiers, skills and it didn't seem like EA was milking us dry for SpeedBoost only cars.

You'd level up and you'd actually see a "level up" screen and you'd unlock new tracks and a skill point. (We didn't have skill mods back then)

When the speed king was the BMW M3 E46 which was not only a level 40 only car but it cost $2,000,000 IGC and you probably had to grind the hell out of Waterfront Road or Construction Route in your tier 2 Lotus Elise. Or when you finally hit level 50 and you grind the hell out of Eagle Drive which was a level 49 or 50 track trying to win new performance parts.

In my very first multiplayer race back in 2010 I won and beat a level 9 and I thought I was so pro lol.

Once I got a 1,000,000 gold card prize after a race. Was about 3 days before the announcment of World shutting down. I didn't know what to think at first but then I remembered reading awhile back that super rare drops had been added to card packs after races. They weren't kidding. I would have done well over 10,000 races before getting one.

Anyway, I just felt like talking about some of my fondest memories of this game. Anybody else got any fond memories?

Someone managed to make a custom track (sans barriers) for Carbon in September.

Also I found someone who managed to mod MW's camera by poking around attributes.bin. I tried to do the same in World but it seems the values are gone.

Also I found something on other forums:

Can someone make a carslots.xml for 1.8 that contains ONLY a stock Silvia S15? In other words, a starter carslots. There was one like this for 1.7 but it has the Challenger (which sucks) and it doesn't seem to work with version 1.8.

carslot with just a stock white silvia s15 and 500 available carslots for server v1.8u2

EDIT: I also changed the number of carslots available from the default 5 to 500 because in my server if I buy more cars than the available carslots my server crashes and if I try to buy carslots my server crashes and both corrupt my carslost so I changed the default 5 to 500 I will upload one with just the default 5 carslots as originally in the server

this carslot has the default 5 available carslots and the stock white silvia s15 for server v1.8u2

EDIT:: about some cars I found in dealer with bugs ::
I am working to correct 6 cars in dealer, So far these are a list of cars in v1.8 need to be fixed from the dealer side...

1) Mazdaspeed3 (Style) Exclusive - the orange one given for 0 at end of nfsw becomes negative when parts added

2,3,4) Mazda RX-7 Style 2,3,4 show in dealer d class 387, when in garage show OA 606

5) Nissan Silvia S15 Red (Style) Exclusive E class 212 add parts and it goes negative

6) Chevy Corvette zo6 Cross zo6 has wrong hash in basket Cross ZO6 basket: SRV-CAR285 (all the others that show the z06 have the correct hash except the one I posted) this is the hash from the included text for the zo6 if you want to fix cross zo6 1853505843=Chevrolet Corvette Z06

as I find and figure the rest and get them corrected or fixed I will compile a zip with all fixes

EDIT: something I am doing ::
Dealer price adjustments!!

Looking at the xml will take some time and I have to be sure of what I adjust are correct to match the other variants in a specific model. So a stock car will be less than the modded or elite... after being in the xml I seen so many with 0 that need to have a price.. I will make sure all is adjusted proper before I even think of uploading anything...

Also looking to add in speedboost variants as we had before, I have xmls from v1.7 I can reference but will have to use the new basket files for those variants... this will take some time to do (if I can actually do it) but something I am attempting to do

Does Carbon use globalmemoryfile.bin or attributes.bin?

Anyway I seem to have read somewhere that World "caches attributes.bin", how do I avoid this caching? I've modified some stuff and I don't know if it just doesn't have any effect or if the game's reading the cached file.

World and Carbon have similiar structure, i think, caching thing is fake, i never have that. Anyway, just restart PC

I got my hands on Carbon and indeed the structure is similar. Tracking down the differences in VLT Edit now...

A few days ago I tried to make traffic/racers destructible like the police SUV. I tracked this happening down to ecar/cops, DeathEffect and DamageEffect entries. Pity we can't add entries AFAIK.
