Since that is the chitchat topic, i have a general question. How a site like twitter or facebook who serve lets say over 20 million people at the same time don't experience any lag or downtime and yet so fast for each user? Is it the bandwidth and the connection only?

Nope, IMO such huge websites uses failover systems. It's something like if one webhost goes off, then website immediately starts to use other one server, and ofcourse those webs load is balances between many different hosts.

i think there is no better MMORPG than sro in fun because most of the new MMORPGS this days ignore the realistic regions ...

i mean each region in sro exist in real world... and they had each cap update belong to a emperor or a legend like Pharos, Jupiters, Roc, Medusa, etc

which gave the game a taste .. also the Job system(old one) was the best system in any MMORPG !
i still don't know why there is no any game yet took this idea !

nowdays mmorpgs have very fantasy landscape but poor gears design and characters animation , also nowdays mmorpgs have poor skill system, skill animation, and effects.

they focus in the fantasy look so much which make it more than it should be.

if joymax just didn't update the game with this shitty updates, removing good things and doing( only for high levels updates), and tried to save the community and players from leaving, i think sro was going to be from the top 10 mmorpgs.

it is about managing the game, sro killed itself by itself !
they have so lack in creativity, they added only cap updates which made it impossible to level up 101+ yourself and you have to 24/7 botting, day by day the game turned into a afk botting game. they added a shitty system of coins and fgw, and later they added the upgrading system which make it worth, then they removed job system ... worth worth worth ...

in fact, SRO is one of the few MMO that is in fact based on a real age/event(Mangyangs exist)
I agree that the real issue here is Joymax(pservers may hurt the SRO scene but even before, Joymax shitty plans have always fucked up the game)
also, never understood how Joymax didn't implemented their ingame bot(there is coded but cannot be used). SRO on 1x take years to even get to a decent level(90 for me was 1 year). Even JadeDynasty/Zuxzhian/Celestial Destroyer has their own "Bot" to avoid most of this issues

SRO for their time was a cutting edge game
now it isnt as there are a lot of game better in graphics that could have the exact same engine SRO uses

I hope the we could get any SRO-2 news(I still have hope)

Well, Silkroad on the maximum details doesn't look bad in 2013 in terms of the graphical appearance, I even dare to say that it looks better than most f2p games and many p2p games, including shitty Guild Wars 2. If they could only do the gameplay properly, lead it the way it is not used only as a cow to be milked, but led by a company that actually does a lot of nice stuff for it's players, for example Blizzard, it would've been one of best F2P mmo games I guess.

Right now the only cause of it's failure is the way JOYMAX manages it.

I'm pretty sure that if a different company would take Silkroad, reduce it's cap to 110, make it less grind-heavy, so that you can reach the cap without a 24/7 bot within a reasonable time span, take care of their servers so it doesn't lag like a motherfucker, I guess a lot of people would go back there. Hell, I think I would go back there as well.

maybe cap 100 is more better ...
and they can make level up by doing job as hunter/trader/thief more than grinding, damn it will be more better.

and they can add Alex, Jupiter and Arabia updates as a storyline based on quests, etc
like adding gears only but not to increase the cap.

Good, better, the best. There's no "more better".

Definitely, but imo pk2 tutorials aren't going to be useful anymore due to all questions revolving around files
