I don't start them both, I just posted the messages I get from either starting the CAL or the Alef, because I can't get it to work with any of them.

In fact, you can start CAL servers but you won't be able to connect to database with any other database like 11g / 11g R2.

You could maybe with 10G if you have the patch to apply on the client for OCI.

To get that patch you need to be a buyer for the support.

There is no other way, i tried to find patchsets but can't download :/

drwx, better to go on XP / server 2003 with Oracle 9i.

For guides / tutorials, they are updated and you can't fail with 2003 server.

I just uninstalled Oracle (I also deleted the Oracle folder) in order to install another version. But when I try to install the new version I get the message "The SID you have specified already exists on this machine. Please specify a different SID". How do I delete the previous SID (account)? I am on XP with SP 3.

go to regedit and delete the registry from oracle :)

so u can new install oracle


and u dont need windows xp

i have windows 7 64 bit :)

u can use oracle 9i 10g

it works

virtual machine version: V7 and Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

Power for my Machine: 4 GB RAM 200GB HDD

if im finish i host on a ROOT - SERVER
