[Tutorial] Shaiya Updater

Hab leider ein Problem beim Updater er zeigt mir immer folgendes an:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Kann mir jemand sagen wie ich das Problem beheben kann?

Well.. Anyway.. Since i kept trying and kept failing. I would ask if someone want's to help me with it.. I spent like so much hours a day doing this. It's the only thing i fail at.

I have very good experince with server stuff, and this seem's easy, but it fails. No matter what i do.

If anyone want's to give me a hand, please do so.. If not than i'll keep trying i quess lol.

I have been away from elitepvper for quite some time now, If you get errors and have done updater over and over, from my experience in helping others is that not only may it be the Updater not working but it may also be your patches. About 85% of the time I have helped others it turned out to be bad patches.

Make sure you have good patches and keep at it...Attention to detail is key in developing

While making "Patches" I putted "Update and Add Files" Not replace. And then it worked.

SrShaden hello I have a question I would like to use the updater FR but it is very different way by the U.S. if you have an idea how to change it. if you want I can give you the Updater.exe.

first of all congratulations for this tutorial, very clean.

I have a simple question that i wasnt able to solve by myself: i want to just change original shaiya client without modify website for patch and things like that. I want for example to import in the data.sah file my modifications.

Doing it by myself with lilprohacker's tool works perfectly: i get the modification.
Now i save it as patch file, lets call it patch0101.patch and send it to a friend of mine. How can he patch the client now? i mean patching by disconnected, without help of patch downloader server.

If I understood you right you are trying to patch your files but you wont edit the updater ô.o
Well, your friend could patch the files with LPH's Shaiya Data File Tool aswell or you can create a second Updater for your modifications only ;)

exactly, i was hoping with just editing the version.ini file was possible to say to the updater "hey, we have already downloaded it, now patch whatever u find in the folder!".

pratically skipping the download of patch00xx.patch file and starting with unpacking/patching, to make it easier (not many has the brain to use lph's tool sadly).

but probably is not possible without editing the updater =( pity!

The easiest way to do it is creating your own updater of course. If you have problems with editing it ask for help :)

You could send him through a zip file all the new files that you updated... just like if you where to create a patch... then he uses lilprohackers tool and updates the data with your files... "copy and replace"

sure, but i wanted a way to avoid other to use LPH tool.. not everyone is smart enough to use it properly and i dont want to seem like i share hacks, since it should work on the official version of the game

It sounds more and more like you want to screw up your "friends" client by forcing him to update from a patch you send him that "looks" like it comes from Aeria because it works in their updater.

I don't see why you can't just send him an edited updater file that picks the updates from your own site, like webs.com.

That will do what your asking, and all you need him to do then is patch your updater over his existing updater.. easy as that.. :S

Or if you just want to send for example recoloured armors to him in a patch, but let the updater still pick up patches from US. Just tell him to make a copy of the Aeria version.ini and updater (name them .ini (1) .exe (1) for example) Then just tell him to switch between yours and Official when you want to send him some "updates"
