The main issues are caused because people did not extract it fully and did not install it cleanly.

cant click on any guide to select

Then something is corrupted. Delete the addon. Delete the saved variables for the addon. Extract with 7zip and should fix it.

Is there an update to the retail gold guides?

Most gold guides I share are from youtube. As I share over 130 sources of gold guides that are not my own.

it depends if you download all the addons the ui should use or if you just want to download the minimum (but you will need to download some of them anyway to have the ui working properly).

for SOD (classic ERA) you must have :
- a tooltips folder on your game/interface (not on addons)
- on game/interface/addons the list of addons required to make the ui working properly (I think at least bigwigs / littlewigs / details / elvui / name plates aura / plater / weak auras but you should take everything)
- on game/interface/addons the naowhui addon folder

edit : the very first step is to rename interface to interface_old and wtf to wtf_old, then launch the game and exit it again once you have reached the character selection screen, then you can copy on your new interface folder the addons

For example, an addon has a version number. Some people post a UI with their version number. Last time I saw this one, it was a date and no version number.

Well downloaded the whole NDF folder and it has 5 folders inside it, and its not an addon folder or anything like that hence im confused how to install this

I do not know how to install it, but they say what they are. They are weak auras, so you install weak auras.
You have Elvui profiles, so you install elvui
You have plater, so you install plater.

You cannot install a full ui as an addon. Seeing it would have no settings at all.

on the link on first page for naowhui classic, you should take only the classic.rar file it has everything.
once uncompressed, you can copy paste directly everything to your game\interface folder, you will have the tooltips, the addons and the naowhui folder.
