Because these days almost everyone wants to be max level within 1/2 days (if possible) and start doing alchemy/job/pvp/etc. This will result in that you have got everything you want and you get bored than you start leaving the server because you have nothing left to do.

Back in the old days low degree items were worth something because you didn't leveled up that fast. People were pimping their stuff and when they didn't need it anymore they sold it because other players could use it.
Now low degree items is worth nothing because you are leveling up so fast that only the last degree items is worth something. That price is so high and players can't buy it because they don't have enough gold yet. This will result into OP players and other players have proble to catch up to OP players.
When every degree is worth something it will result in a low difference between players who got +5 and higher weapons/gear/accessory at the last degree and players who got +3/+5 from the one last degree.

the rates are fine as it is, not everyone is a bum and has no life outside playing games

w/ that said, will you guys add more costumes/pets on server launch? i was looking for some stuff to buy but its not in the shop

He is right, since u implemented arenas & custom quests, its gonna be easier to lvlup. I mean u encouragin light bottin so u better lower the rates so the quests can be something useful & enjoyable, otherwise ppl will just go botting with high rates no matter how much xp quests give. Eltsur & Venture pick up this path & it succeded pretty well.

Not to be a dick, but Eltsur and Venture wasn't really that successful.

That was back in the day, this is now. The reason it worked so well was because people were new to Silkroad, and there were no such thing as a "high rate" server. Most of the good and fun Silkroad players left years ago, and people need to start realizing that. As of today people are sick of leveling, because they have done it so many times already. And if you need to base your servers success on how long it will take to cap, it's never going to.

There are plenty of people here, but those servers didn't deliver what the majority of people here want, botting and pvping.

I need to correct you on this one. People aren't sick of leveling, lazy ass kids are sick of leveling. Leveling is part of the game same a quests. Some quests are fun to do but with high rate server it's not needed.
A high rate server is crap because you get bored very fast. When there are low rate servers where you need to spend time in leveling, farming sp, do quests and need to work together to get max level. This is a part of the game and this needs to stay.

Srsly?
Everytime i am joining a Server itīs the same.
I am leveling like 1 week to get max Level, 1 week to get items and 1 week to success everything in alchemy.
After i am done with everything the Server Closes.
I am not a lazy ass kid but where is fun about 80% of the Players are afk botters and 15% ist stalling or doing alchemy?
And you can also do quests when youīre max lvl..
There could be quests with items or Gold reward.
I donīt get why ppl say lvling is fun and max lvl is boring. I am always playing with many friends when i am at max lvl and not only when i am leveling. And btw everybody got his own opinion and calling Players "lazy ass Kids" who got another opinion than yours doesnīt seem to be the fine way to me.
