Same reason i didn't :) It was right in our faces...
Too bad i don't have time atm to write a proper tool for better editing the packs, as this technique only allows in place 1:1 editing, can't "add" more info or the pack structure is broken.
If anyone can spare it, shouldn't be too hard. The QuickBMS script already provides the pack structure, all it would take would be to read it from the file, output a chosen section decoded and import it back and re-encode it while updating any subsequent headers to account for the offset/length changes.
i'm also used Hex Workshop.. :) ,so which means that we can't add any new code in it? assume you said " 0 to 1 " change,i bet mastery can be changed right?(just need comfirmation)Quote:
As i said, you can only do 1:1 changes, like changing a 0 to a 1. I'm used to Hex Workshop, but XiV32 and HxD do a decent job. Don't forget you have to use the XoR encoder again on the file after you change it/save it.
ohh,spo only value can be changed?how about item id?cause when i make a slightest changed that Error pop up..Quote:
Right, can't add/remove data, just change what is already there. No idea about mastery, never touched that particular file, but if it's just a matter of changing some values, then yes, can be done.
by reverse engineering the client and change the damage cap bytesQuote:
Hello all, i know this thread is old, however thanks author for this post.
I used to play 9D, and when saw private server was like wth, why not to play again.
Server works fine, changes to SCR_BASE went through too. What could make a man happier that your own 9D server? Probably sex, but not sure now :D
If someone could point me into right direction where I can change damage cap, I would be even more happy.
Anyway, thanks to all who made it all possible.
