[RELEASE] Perfectworld Private Server

I got it to work after starting out fresh with the original vmware images. Before, files must have messed up after I started playing with the server.

BatGM has a Delay of 3 hours then u have your cubigold (dont ask wy i also think its stupid:P)

Hey, I come from PWI and I've been looking into trying my own builds on the side, without experimenting with my char. So I want to try a private server for myself just so I can mess around and stuff, the server files in the Original post.. can I run a server with that.. o.O? If not does someone know where I can get info on running one.. ? because I've been searching google/swordsman forums/elitepvpers forums for days now and I can't find anything :confused: halp plz!

Edit: I have VMware Workstation v6.5.2.156735 and working on getting a linux OS but I don't know what I need to run my own pw-p.server. Help me out even with just telling me what I need or anything x.x thx.

Edit+: This is where I am at, I have ubutu server edition (doesn't look like I need it but playing it safe? lol) and VMware workstation v6.5.2. I run those server images on vmware.. the console boots up... but then how do I control the server? Those commands to start with/without the dungeons are not being recognised by the console so I am missing a step here... how do I start the server? T.T afterwards, how do I add the server to the server list in the client folder? Thx for help anyone!

./start_minimal.sh is start server without dungeons....

and in your client theres a serverlist.txt

add a line:

YourServer 29000:192.168.0.51 11

i managed to signup with megaupload to be able to download the single 1.6GB vmware disk image, however i have problem. i was able to use the image to create a client system within vmware. i started the server and able to login as root per your comment. thatś all working as expected, the problem is.

--running ./start.sh or ./start_minimal.sh will keep flooding the console with info and warning for hours without stop. the infomation there just move on so fast i can not tell what is really going on. i try to access the register web address given but i.e and firefox just time-out the page after a long wait. it does not work. itś not a system resource for sure bc i have plenty of cpu and ram on this box. please let me know how i can make this server image working.

1. after login with root i check the command ifconfig and there seems to be no eth0 at all all there is only local loopback therefore no ip address known outside of the box. vmware settings does include a bridgrd network though.
2. i attempted to set static ip using ifconfig but failed since there is no network card detected. hinted eth0
3. i tried this image under vmware wktion 6.5.2 and vmware player 2.5.2 both shows the same result.

I had similar networking issue as you. Like you I used the bridged network mode. Here is how I fixed mine.:
1. run "ifconfig -a", mine gave lo and eth1 (no eth0). So I edited /etc/network/interfaces to use eth1 wherever it says eth0.
2. since above is a static ip address, I change my LAN network to use the same subnet, 192.168.0.xxx.
3. restart the OS in vmware. Now I was able to ping linux in vmware from Windows and vice versa.

Now try starting the game server. Show us the error messages if there are any. To something like "./start_minimal.sh > log.txt 2>&1" and post the log.txt here.

netdude thanks for the suggestion i was able to see eth1 as well, i made the change you suggested and now the vm image loads better without all of those info and warnings. i was able to get a message at the end saying minimal server running, time to start the game, which i take the message as a sucess server loaded. however iḿ stuck on one other issue. from the vm server i can not ping my router/gateway 192.168.0.1 and my windowboxs on the 192.168.0 subnets. it seemed as though the system are not on the same network. i check many times and confirmed my router is at 192.168.0.1 by login into the admin setup page there using my other pc on the network. all other vms and pc can see the router and access the internet through it. however the vm for this game aserver can not ping the router nor ping any of the other vms/pcs and VS. here is my /etc/network/interfaces looks like for the vms of this game img server.

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.0.51
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1

if anyone have any suggestion i can try i´ll gladly do it. i thought i know some networking after being sysadmin for over a decade, but this thing stumped me good.

insane or anyone who know plz post link to the server files and a guide on how to setup the server in ubuntu please i would rather setup a server from scratch if i can, the advantage is i don´t have to use vmware. i can simply use a spare pc put ubuntu on it and start from scratch.

I got VMware 6.5.2 installed on my server however I get an error when I try to start it.

I have the game files download and waiting to be put up next but can't get VMware to work correctly, any ideas?

I can't seem to log in, every time I try it says Cannot connect to server.

cant you make it @DVD file...where can i have this DVD game...??my connection is limited connection...its only have about 25kbps...would take days to complete if i dL from web....cant you make it more become DVD??and where can i have it..??
