Historically, BE is the only actual English. AE is a sort of BE influenced by many foreign languages, resulting in words that, at least to my ears, don't sound English. Even insulting in BE sounds more elaborate than it does in AE. Besides, I so badly want to study for one semester in Cambridge, knowing this is very unlikely going to happen.
Oh and don't forget a American accent can make you sound mentally disabled. Really.
