[RELEASE] WORKING Fixed Serverfiles+English gameclient!

Ok for the DBmon.exe you should download the server files from the first page and it should have it and to change the name of your server edit the config files in your client folder, for your query analizer should come with sql 2000 in your start menu, and your welcome to post any and all questions and i will try to help you out but i am also stuck at a spot something to do with my session crashing because of some provider.cpp file.

Well when I download it... It doesn't have it inside the rar file :S
And no I don't have any firewalls or virusscans for several reasons which mean my firewall can't remove the program from my pc can it :)?
But then still... I don't know where to get the dbmon... Isn't there any way I can get it from a different link to see if it works :S?

and also.... I can't find any client map :S Where should it be in?
In the difference_server or the Dekaron_20Difference map?

EDIT: Nevermind about the server name I got to change it... But thats not everything about changing names... I also want the loading screens to be changed to something I made... I also want the screen when you try to log in to my server not say NO copyright Difference server...

ANOTHER EDIT: I found a program that changes dds format into png or any other image file format and back... So the loading screens etc shouldn't be a problem only some of the texts should be changed back which I don't know how to :) eather ways... If someone can give me the dbmon.exe I should do fine :D thanks for the help dyeron...

3d EDIT: I have found a program similar to dbmon its called debugview... and I have the same problem as dyeron... at my session server the provider.cpp gives an error... This is the exact error message:

Hello guys i was around on these forums about 1 year ago and got a pserver up and running for my house. now i got the latest client and servers files and i'm very happy that it works( i had given up on it for a while cause norton started to block it and i did not have enough free time got that all fixed now) so with new client i would love to help get to aloken working i just don't know where to start. any want to just point in the right direction? gotta say thanx and to silk and everyone for their time and effort 2 bad some people just want to ruin it for everyone else.

i believe u got this error cuz u didnt update ur mssql 2000 server with the servicepack 4. download it and install it should work fine then

thats because I dont have mssql 2000 but 2005 with sp3... :)

I'll try to upgrade to sp4 and afterwards if it still doesnt work I'll install mssql 2000... Hope that will work :D thanks for the help :)

EDIT: eeeerm... w8... There is no service pack 4 for windows xp XD
or do you mean servicepack 4 for the program mssql 2000??? :S

if so... Then do I have to install mssql 2000 and THEN the service pack 4 on top of it? Or can I just install mssql 2000 sp4 without needing mssql 2000 first?
Ow and also... Is it a smart thing to remove my mssql 2005 before installing mssql 2000? Or will that not bring any problems?

Your best bet is to uninstall the 2005 first, then install the 2000 and SP4 afterwards.

Note that when you run the exe for SP4 it is ONLY decompressing it to your C drive. You must go to the folder and run the setup to install it.

Make sure that during the install you select mixed mode authentication (a must), and enable TCP/IP if you plan to do any remote management.

I knew about the authentication, and thanks for all the instructions... But this doesn't mean I have to remake my database does it? :S

EDIT: ok I made a server with mssql 2000 sp4 called belial2... but I still have the same problem with my session server... And another thing... how is the session server supposed to log in to my database when it only has the ip of my hamachi and username and password of my sql server while it doesn't know the name of my server... Thats something I don't get and which I need explanation in :P

ow and also:
Installing mssql 2000 sp4 with cmd is normal to everyone :S? Because it seems quite strange that I have to install it via a command prompt where I have to write:
cd c:/SQL2KSP4/MSDE
and then:
setup INSTANCENAME="Belial2" SAPWD="blahblah"

Caper can you post the link for the SP4?

It's the last one listed there named SQL2000-KB884525-SP4-x86-ENU.EXE

strange thing :S I have to install it with cmd because it says that it needs a strong SA password and that I can use the SAPWD switch or something :S?

Which I did and I got a server running... But it didn't solve my problem :(
I also used the 127.0.0.1 but that didn't work eather :(

And then another thing that I'd like to know: why doesn't any of the config files ask for a server name like: MSSQL$BELIAL2???

And what does hamachi have to do with connecting to your own server :S? I'm not running the sql server on hamachi am I :S?

is it possible to use a remote database such as one in your web space cPanel under MySQL? Just asking as I would rather have my Database hosted on one of my web space hosts.
