notice("Hi there")
will notice all players

whisper("trude","Hi there")
will notice trude. you can combine this with gv("name") to write a nice lua.

whisper(gv("name"),"hi there")
will whisper whoever just triggered the lua.

Hi all!
After a lot of reading, searching and downloading i managed to setup my home private server but i still have some issues and it would great if someone could help me.

1 - I downloaded a package named "kts repack v1.1". it has nice NPC (setup by twilightprince i suppose) and cubric dungeon working but there is no on_login.lua in the script folder, and even if i put one in there login-buffs do not work (while they do works if i use a different server with the same databases)
Any idea about which could be the problem and how to fix it ? Maybe i should "tell" the server to go read on_login.lua in some way ?

2 - all ingame actions that require access to the database lag the game a lot (drops, enchanting, items bought...) i'm, using win7x64 with mssql2012-32bit (but i tried 64bit too...) is there a way to fix this lag ?

3 - all game commands generated by various tools (and meant to be pasted into the harlock windows) start with "/run <command>" but i only managed to make them work using the "#<command>"sintax. Any hint on this? It's pretty annoying having to correct each command each time

4 - more questions to come when ima gonna find more problems :D

I have setup my server according to JW988's guide, everything is working fine except for two things.
1st: on CaptainSherlockServer everything loads up fine until this line
"Acceptor initialize... failed"
2nd: I can log in just fine but when i select the server game freezes and the only thing i have left to do is kill it with task manager... (I dont know if this is related to the 1st problem or not)

Hi everyone.

I just setup a P-server using a guide. I fixed my IP so that my client is connecting. But when I try to login as ID: admin PW: ***** for testing as the guide says to do i get a login failed message. does anyone know how to fix that?

OMG... the file I used had an edited admin password. All I had to do was change it in SQL. can you feel the derp?? I sure do! Sorry all thanks anyhow.

You forgot a step (pay attention):

You must md5 hash it to your md5 hash key (if you are using one)

go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and type "key" + "password" e.g. 2011admin goes for admin, and so go on.

Hello

I just finished installing the server files and followed the step by step guide. Now that I can connect to my server after the login screen I get disconnected trying to select the testserver. Does anyone know how I can fix this? With my firewall/anti-V and UAC disabled I still get disconnected when I select the server. Could this be a server/client conflicting problem or is this computer side? Please help.

If you get the error "cannot connect to index server", then you must do these commands on Auth server after starting it

Code:
start_service
set game.open_external 1
If not, check your gameserver.opt, and change the port to any free port on your computer "put in mind if you want it public you must forward it via firewall/router firewall".

Thanks musta.

Everything is loading fine server side (no errors) the 2 commands are enabled. I don't get any errors client side. I am running it through my router IPv4 and also tried it through the local port 127.0.0.1. both login in the client fine. then disconnect once I select the server. It gives me the logging in to server box. Then a you have been disconnected from the server box. Its driving me nuts.
