Obviously he was never going to get what he paid for. I don’t understand why scammers pull this move where they try to find something during the waiting period to latch onto and pretend is the reason for the scam.

I’m not saying you have more than 1 detection I’m saying you shouldn’t use the word “only” when you’re already detected so soon.

It feels like there is a missing part of the story. What exactly did he say or show you that convinced you to send $10k in the first place? Because before you exposed them, I dont think anyone would have sent them any money.
From what you have described, they basically had a semi working internal cheat and a small server (around 40 users), and you still went “yeah, lets send $10 000 in crypto to this guy.

He probably saw enough to know a legit deal could be done and assumed a dev with that many internal cheats wouldn’t scam him for only 10k.
10k is a lot of money in most contexts but when we are talking about scamming the dev of Sync and having him after you it’s not worth it. An internal cheat lineup like the scammer has could make a lot more than a measly 10k but that potential has been mostly destroyed over the scam.
