NT Vendetta - Open Beta released.

Release the files please :(
I've been waiting sooo long to be able to play an emulator with the full game
it's gonna be so sad if the files are gone and wasted..

Would be even better to see how actual GMs are on the original files

Why should they release stuff, which cost them a lot of effort just that everyone can make their own little server? I'm sure that, if that were your files, you won't simply release them to everyone. If you check the Vendetta Forum, you can see that they put a lot of time in their stuff(if its true about 9 month for Nostale), so why is it wasted? If they make a good server, with their own files (or official files doesn't matter) it isn't wasted even if the server only last a year.

It's just a stupid thing to ask to release the files ... Especially if they are the only ones to have it.

Just stop being a leecher and learn to do things by yourself.

The point is that they're wasted if they're gone immediatly after the Server is down. If they would provide some useful Information for those 3-4 skilled Developers that are alive in this Scene the actual legal Development would go way faster and better.

When this Server is gone, everything goes back to the OpenSource Files which are not really far until now. So in the End, the community is almost gaining nothing out of this.

Can Gameforge / Entwell shutdown the server ? I mean in which law position is this project working? Normally the logic thought is that it's a Nostale Pserver and the files are "stolen" or whatever. At the end it is a Nostale Server. I just wanna know I am not blaming or something. I like the big step of VGN as well.

Yes. They must shutdown the Server or legal proceedings.

I am glad they dont release the files, before there are some bullcrap donator system PServers again

Copyright ^^ if the files are stolen it's absolutely not the same as if the files is reverse engineering... that exactly like ask the difference between use cracked ms office vs OpenOffice. One is legal the other one isn't.

Ah okay so I understood the difference now haha. And what happens if they release the files ? Is Gameforge then able to lock the files or something?
Or I ask this way, how high is the chance that the Server will survive? Or is there any chance that it will survive :)

After the Files got shared once (even if only vendetta got them) they'll never be able to "lock" them or smth like this. Probably they'll get public (dont think so) probably not. But they will never again be able to take them from the community.

The only thing the gf could do is to initiate legal actions.

Okay thank you. Good to know. I hope this Vendetta will be the next full working PServer after 99nos. I would prefer 1 full working and non p2w oriented server instead of thousands of servers with Admins which just following the Guide Videos how to create a server and dont know anything abaout the files in any way.
But as Vendetta mentioned in their Blog this project seems like a legit and hopeful project.
