Agreed with badboy too.. tried XX:20- XX:45 = nothing. (tried for 3 days and gave up).. Its all based on char luck

since we are here, thinking about how sockets are made... Could we all be wrong?

lets ask ourselves some questions:

Does it really have to do something with time?
Does it really have to do something with coords?
if so, how does the server know at what coords you are?
Could we be looking in the wrong direction?
Could it be not time and location, but item id's (like mets with the id 981847XX give sockets, the rest dont)?
Is it wise to discuss it here?

I just wrote down stuff to think about, personly I think time and item id matter
Perhaps if we Meteorize a item with id XXXX3XXX3 at time X:33 you get a socket item?
If so, it would explain why there are less sockets, or maybe shops sell only items with id XXXX3XXXX, which makes the chance to socket items (which is most time buy norms and meteorize away) larger...


Hope I set you guys to thinking, I am still following this forum, but I dont have as much spare time as before... :cool:

Edit: Holy shit, looking through my SSes I noticed something. I'll test it within a day or so an see how it goes. I've got all my socs within 8 mets after begining spamming doin this, while all other met spams have resulted in nothing.

It seems like most people get socs after less then 10 mets...

Do you guys who made a few socs try the same item over and over (repairing it when needed), or just keep buying new items after each trying?

On my server this guy made about 7 socs, including 2 soc earrings. He said he made all of them when there weren't many people around him in TC. Me and my friend were talking, if you use multi tool and a map where this is NO ONE else, do you think your chances are higher?

Also, what are the chances of the monsters that the mets dropped from impacting on the chance of the mets socketing? I.E. a met drop from a normal monter, an aide, a msgers, or a king.
