if you are running windows vista/7 you need to right click run as admin or else i t will constantly do that my friend who i set up to connect to my server had the same problem last night.

Thanks so much eternity, what headache reliever, to think 3 days wasted because i wasn't running as admin... need anyone else for your server i'd gladly join, thx again =)

I too am having issues with Fleee's upload. Since this is the reason I joined Elite Vpers, I'd love to get my hands on those files (not that I won't participate with EV other than this, of course- I joined for a reason).

Unless of course... I updated my POV program. Is this all that Fleee's package was, the updated files?
Currently trying to set up my own server to make sure I have everything going right...

Thank you Flee! I believe your instructions were flawless except for explaining that if you set a password you have to type in the password in the server's pxi configuration. that had me spinning for a while.
i cant believe it im running my own FFXI server! haha take that square enix...
i've only played for a little while now, ive figured out how to increase the exp rate which is good for solo play or duo play (as i intend to do).
don't get me wrong im extremely grateful for this chance to play again like this, but the mobs are not like the game right? i step out into gustasberg and all the mobs are even match, not only that but i beat an even match handily and then later on an easy prey forces me to zone. there must be something wrong with the math there...
also signet doesnt work.
it's still playable as far as im concerned, and i realize part of the enjoyment is in the control you can have over your character and the environment using the special commands but I want to try to experience FFXI like i had in the days of old grinding out mobs and leveling up (albeit at a faster pace) anyone know how i can help make the program run more like it does in the real game. also I have the expansion packs, will they work with this?
if i could edit the game more i would but i dont know any programming languages, however I will help out with anything else. i would like to see the mob math be a bit more precise as well as shop items becoming less expensive (increase the drop rate right? but the thing is the items' prices seem to increase exponentially according to level while drops always seem to be worth about the same making the higher level equipment rather overpriced...)

my server works but some problem geting exp killing mobs but no exp and no skill ups any one knows what happens?

i dont know how this can be, can you explain a bit more the situation (what zone, what mobs)

as for myself ive played a couple hours 2 characters on two computers, ive never played like that before, but its quite fun. a new problem cropped up today i saw some quadav were appearing on the PC which had wings of goddess installed prior to going on pserver. the models were obviously from the WoG expansion. the mobs were only appearing on that PC while the other PC which did not have the expansion didnt show them. the PC that couldnt see them couldnt target them right away but eventually could target the invisible mobs. im going to uninstall wing of goddess on said computer and will try again.

also the 2 hour ability on monk does not work, nor does his first H2H weapon skill. i wish i could figure out how to fix it up myself. anyway heres hoping this starts up some new discussion.

jus noth gustaberg worms and all mobs on zone as monk lvl 1 killed and 0 exp win xD
i thing have problems with db now logued and no skills actives xD

and speaking about that any one have command list for this server ?

View the readme. It lists all commands.

maybe in the pxi configuration file you accidentally changed the exp rate
it should have there something like this
EXPRATE = 5.0
i set it at 5.0 because thats a good rate for me, you can set it to anything you want, you may have accidentally set it to 0 or else i dont know what else could be the problem sorry.

well i tested it out again this time without wings of goddess on either pc and i was attacked by an invisible untargetable mob, this time neither pc could view the mob, but what i found strange was that this time i saw a mob called a goblin but with the model of a shrapnel (bombomb). the other pc saw it correctly as a goblin.... im going to try installing all the expansions up to goddess and correcting the files and trying again to see what happens. if anyone could shed any light into what's happening i would be very greatful. thanks

for some reason names arent matching up and some models dont show like in sea sharks dont show up only the name and its extremely hard to target it.

yep i noticed that name thing too can be quite strange, i figured out that the names were wrong and not the models, so the worm with a goblin name was in fact just a worm and not to be feared. i reached konsctat highlands today and just explored it a bit, seems to be in order so far. i finally noticed that the mobs don't have any special attacks (i guess thats what it means by all the mobs being set as hume warriors). i think that diminishes the value a bit but still not a deal breaker. now with the first 4 expansion packs installed on both machines i haven't run across a single invisible mob. that increases the playability by a lot. fought leaping lizzy twice only it was only it appeared as a regular mob without the NM name. i knew it was LL since it dropped leaping boots both times. its going to provide an extra level of challenge if we cant see the NM name anymore, that means being prepared to fight the nms at all times when chasing after the placeholders. i want to see if i can help make monsters more like in the real game but not sure where to do that in the files. i can't find any scripting for the monsters. im a noob at programming but it seems intuitive enough i would take a stab if i was given a lead.

I was playing the game with 3 accounts, got my main banned so decided to quit and use the emulator.
I stiil have 2 accounts activeted.
I am trying to install and make my own server but I get errors configuring MySQL at the last window when you execute it.
It says "Cannot create Windows service for MySQL. Error:0
Anybody can help me ?
