Thanks for the updating lol lol
Im going to follow this guide from scratch again step by step and if im succesfull i will make some notes and possibly a guide or video, to complement all this work that you and others have done.
Id like to think it would make the whole project more accessable to more ppl and therefore grow with new map makers? scripts and bug fixers etc
anyway now back to the drawing board...i never even got to the client log in bit:P be back soon with my findings;)

There's a video guide by Mr_PoP ..
03/01/2009 23:26 grabby69#83
used the forum search for mr_pop`s video...no luck:/
following the guide step by step isnt working, there seems to be steps missing that are mentioned later in the posts...then it goes to pot and i have to re-edit/try the different variations (local host/127.0.0.1/127.0.0.x (winampserver)) / (ip 127.0.0.1/127.0.0.x(elsewhere)) and username test/root (winampserver/elsewhere)
i know i will sort this in the end its just not in order following the guide and too many contradictions in password root/test and ip 127.0.0.x
my first problem was that winampserver would not see anything...then i fired up navicat and tried a few navicat "setups" and then when i tried winamp it threw up a new error...cant connect with username (root or test)@local or 127.0.0.x...i read in the posts this is a mistake on my part, where files are not matched with the same ip/password so back to the drawing boardd zz lol
off to test some more^^

I did a little googling for you and the only person that solved this did so by commenting out a line in his mysql config ini
He appears to have a different version of wamp mysql to us but still its worth a try

1.open this folder:
C:\wamp\www\MYSQL
2.edit this config file:
my.config (has a cog on it)
(thats your "my.config")
it will look similar to the text below:
#This File was made using the WinMySQLAdmin 1.4 Tool
#2004-09-30 07:57:57

#Uncomment or Add only the keys that you know how works.
#Read the MySQL Manual for instructions

[mysqld]
basedir=D:/zfserver/MYSQL
#bind-address=127.0.0.1
datadir=D:/zfserver/MYSQL/data
#language=D:/zfserver/MYSQL/share/english
#slow query log#=
#tmpdir#=
#port=1900
set-variable = max_connections=1500
skip-locking
set-variable = key_buffer=384M
set-variable = max_allowed_packet=1M
set-variable = table_cache=512
set-variable = sort_buffer=2M
set-variable = record_buffer=2M
set-variable = thread_cache=8
# Try number of CPU's*2 for thread_concurrency
set-variable = thread_concurrency=8
set-variable = myisam_sort_buffer_size=64M
#set-variable = connect_timeout=5
#set-variable = wait_timeout=5
server-id = 1
[isamchk]
set-variable = key_buffer=128M
set-variable = sort_buffer=128M
set-variable = read_buffer=2M
set-variable = write_buffer=2M
[myisamchk]
set-variable = key_buffer=128M
set-variable = sort_buffer=128M
set-variable = read_buffer=2M
set-variable = write_buffer=2M
[WinMySQLadmin]
Server=D:/zfserver/MYSQL/bin/mysqld-nt.exe
user=root
password=test

3.edit:
put #
before these 3 lines that i highlighted in red
set-variable = key_buffer=384M
set-variable = key_buffer=128M
like so:
#set-variable = key_buffer=128M

This is a shot in the dark but it worked for the other guy...im suspecting you have a low ammount of ram installed?
try # infront of both or just one of the lines?
