It does not exists in the world that developers work on such these big projects for free! ... It's a nonsense!
So stop asking them to release their money-productive source codes.
If you really want to 'open' this section to open source, go ahead and start working on your own project. Then let everyone edit it, simply add their names and release as new projects (or even sell it). Good luck.

The fact is that when projects are extremely big, it's also a nonsense trying to distribute it under new name etc for obvious reasons..
Back to topic, anyway, one people (you) is already enough to build a darkorbit bot. Only have to write the framework itself, because then the 'dynamic' stuff can be updated by the users themselves (packets etc)...
It's just an excuse, yours, to say that you 'need' other people :P

Tvirusx1 made udobot source public and now you can see mass of shitbots to UW by ppl which can't make new thing and update is just making some elements visible.
We can also see SuperBot which is udobot based bot, but has stolen fbot code too.
So why ppl should make os projects?

You can bot with Boxybot - free for boxes - but he's not online and can't shoot aliens.
And Fbot was UDO-Bot based and now he isn't.

It's not a shame or a bad thing to edit the whole source code of UDOBot and add new codes to it,
For me, I changed the whole source code, maybe some visible logics looks like UDOBot.
all beginners started programming like that or you want to say you were born a professional programmer ?

I won't lie about me, I'm a beginner in programming and I didn't admit that.
And by the way, all beginners can't make a straight program in their first test of programming. They just take it step by step and finally they make programs alone.
We all learn more and more to become the best not becoming the best first.
