ok, I had all green arrows for well over an hour, I updated to EP4, had green arrows for about 20 mins, (had to make dinner)... turned off the server and turned it back on. Now I am getting all pauses and the arrows wont stay on more than a couple seconds. What do I do now?

I'm sorry to have to bother this thread with yet another "can't get it to work properly" post, but it seems I just can't solve this on my own. (And yes, I have searched through this and other topics but couldn't find much on the matter at hand. Of course I might just have missed it, in which case I apologize and would be very grateful for a link to the appropriate post).

I got everything up running just fine; ip edits direct the client to my server, the server is obviously connected to the database, which in turn seems to contain all the db's / tables it should. I can get the client to log in successfully, select an alliance and create a character, but whenever trying to start the actual game, that chagrinning "game data load error!!!" message shows up (the extraneous exclamation points make it slightly worse still, haha).
I thought that it might be caused by an invalid match (episode difference) of the files on the server and the files expected by the client, but after trying with 4 different clients and with and without the ep 4 server update, I'm starting to wonder if that is really it...
The client versions I have tried are, I believe, ep 3, 3x various ep4 clients (and even the ep 5 version). Just in case though, if anybody have it working with some specific client edition, maybe you could post a link to that so I can determine for certain whether that's where the issue lies or not? :)

If somebody have some other ideas / knowledge / solutions on the matter, I would be very grateful to parttake in it.

Thanks for your time,
Taffel

I had the same problem when i installed the files provided in this thread, however if you use the server files from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...], i got it past the whole game data load error.

I have the ep5 client from OS, but ive got one major bug in my server that i havnt figured out yet. If i target a critter, it kicks me off server with not so much as a whisper in the logs....*sigh* back to googling lol.

does a p.server only work under windows or under linux too????

:mofo::mofo:

Thanks for the info, devious.
I finally got it to work this noon though; downloaded an old "official" ep4 client (found it on TPB) instead of the private server mods I've been using earlier and everything works perfectly. Not a single disconnection so far for me :)
Hope you get it figured out too.

@niksnelting: the provided pserver would only work under windows as it consists of compiled services. I guess you could run the database on a linux machine though, but then you'd have to figure out how to link those services to that one.

ok thanks =)
