There won't be xml files anymore. Only server.db.

It's a community effort. To make money from the community's work is just f##king stupid.

All in all, Berkay's the one who made the server stable up to this point.
Nilzao's responsible for UDP
NoSpax (AFK due to real life) has the data for the updater system.
Renesis/NFSU360 for database editors
And the rest of the community (WG/NFSCars/NFS-world.com/etc) for car dealer / customization data.

I don't mind.
What I have been after has already been met. So everything else is just a bonus for me.

New "noobs" will probably mind. But then again, that's (mostly) the bunch that left NFSW when the main server closed.

Give or take a few years, the community will become fragmented when people move on. (or die out)

Add-on: Does the Russians follow any GNU GPL rules? (would be interesting if we can slap that on)

He is modifying nfsw's memory to display "We do not give a fuck about copyrights" in the main loading screen(intro).

He is doing illegal shit, I don't modify NFSW but he is modifying it.

Lol, I've been a mainframe programmer and now I'm a database administrator! I suggest if they can't live with a programming career, then become a database administrator! That will stop any complaints! ;)

Be well my friends!

Ah okay. I thought it was the end-user who was willy nilly editing the string in the GFX files.

My bad then.

(Also, I heard about mod theft in the modding community and converting mods without permission. Such things happened frequently sadly...)

So you know the deal. :)

vitalek again? Geez, he's not leaving us alone... but meh, let him rot in his money, not worth to care. In fact, be fucking proud that he stole your work, that means you did awesome.

I don't mind if the server is scripted, but I'll sure miss messing up with the files. :/ I guess we won't be able to modify the bodykits and put mods anymore... Maybe some tools could be created later on for this.

Anyway, I support your decision. The server already works well, and I guess that we can continue doing mods and stuff meanwhile.

Thnx man!

May be a day late here but I really hope this doesn't stop you from working on this, Berkay. I check back once a day in the hope that I'll see the newest version of the server is out.

But still, the fact that you were able to make the game work offline blows my mind. You have so much respect from the community and you deserve it.

Berkay, the server was open source until 1.6 and the source was included. That explains how portions of your code are in Vitaleks' server.

That said, I don't think anyone will pay him anything as we can get a better thing here for free. Please don't stop working on 1.8!

Crypting the server will make it difficult to mod the baskets/track list.

Also, I'm not cool with more false positives. I already had to switch off my AV completely to play due to some firewall functions included that didn't want to turn off.

What about closed-source offline-server AND one (two, three, etc.) online-server WITHOUT paid subscribe, BUT with donate/advertising/other money thing?
