What version of visual c# is the best.?

2010 is the newest, but some applications dosn't work with 2010, because they were set to 2008, but in 99% cases it dosn't matter.

Just download 2010 or both 2008 & 2010.

Just get 2010, you can compile programs to run on .net framework 3.5 (2008's highest version) or you can go all the way up to the latest and greatest, .net framework 4.0.

Make sure u have build the solution...
And if ur console turn off when u starting add this line at the end of ur source code:

Console.ReadKey();

You could push f5 to open it in debug mode (that will compile it and everything). The debug file should be in /bin/debug/programname.exe. The folders will be determined by where you saved the project to when you created it.

I have to agree with an earlier post about lesson four Type Conversion I got kind of confused at the end but that`s because my math sucks lol. I get the concept of it all though within reason :) I shall continue reading and yes I am actually learning :D

Ok so I did it this way is it wrong (obviously not that much because it worked)

Code:
namespace ConsoleApplication1
{
    class Program
    {
        static void Main(string[] args)
        {
            int age = int.Parse(Console.ReadLine());
            if (age < 16)
            {
                Console.WriteLine("You can`t enter");
            }
            else if ((age >= 16) && (age <= 18))
            {
                Console.WriteLine("You can come in but can`t drink");
            }
            else if (age >= 19)
            {
                Console.WriteLine("You can drink as well");
            }
        }
    }
}
Oh and THANK YOU! I definately recommend this to anybody that wants to learn and understand C# because you have explained it very simply and this is the kind of thing I can learn from :D It`s similar to how I have learnt php/html/javascript
