Hmmm..so i can first a weapon id then change into a different one?will that work and does it make permanent?
Changing weapon IDs may work. But it won't stay permanent. I did changed some weapon IDs to treasure chest ID, Works fine.

On Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary Chests? No.
Boss treasure chests? Yes.
