I've been using it for months in many computers (mine, brother, friends...) and it's stopped working

Its been patched. The code that was exploitable has now been shifted to the server side (same as why you cant hack gold) so the disable AI is never coming back. Some have found out how, however as soon as battle ends, it results in CVE due to it being now server sided.
