yeh then whats the plan? if deleting the database will fix whatever is wrong then just do that and let everyone start over :P make it fair for new players i guess ^^ though I'd suggest an increased drop rate for a short duration :D and mabe some bribes such as silk for longer silk pets etc, just so people wont leave.

But the main issue is, will this happen again or will wiping DB fix things?

I understand how you feel Apofiss but at the moment the main concern should be the "health" if you will, of the server itself. Donators should be trackable through the old character database which Peter says still exists as a backup. Usually also when people donate they take a screenie of the transaction details, I'm sure if the server gets back up you'll be guaranteed new silk/items with some proof.

And for peter: I don't know how long you've been involved in private servers or in GMing or stuff like that but as a former Blizzard customer support employee and a gamer of course, it isn't mistakes/hardware faults that cause people to leave, its not being informed on what is going on. All you told us is that the database got fucked, and that a backup still exists but would not work (for unknown reasons), People are here waiting to know whether you will try work on the broken database backup, whatever is wrong with the server, wipe the database and make people start over or if you will shut down the servers completely.

i dunno if u alrdy saw the theards bout the sql exploit ...so ye some1 deleted our acc tables , but we've done a few backups so dont worry. The server will stay down till we'r safe again. It would be useless to open the server and restoring the tables every hour. And iam pretty sure it wasnt oriya that done that.

tha start of failure ... too bad because i was starting to love this server ... sorry if i'm to pessimistic but i always am ... because this happened to me about 10 times... made accounts an characters but when the char was maxed out the server was gone... i really hope this won't happen here because this server is awsome...

to be honest no1 of us (rise and me) want to close the server. We'r tryin to get done as fast as possible.
