When I first heard about it a week prior to its grand opening I was very excited because I liked the concept and everything seemed well thought through. I thought I would be playing on this server for a very long time. But unfortunately after just 4 weeks I had a very rude awakening that has been creeping onto me pretty much since the first couple of people started reaching the cap.
I ranked in the top 20 of the leveling race and donated a hefty amount of money in good faith (my fault I know). Although I didn't donate quite to the extremes some of the whales did.
The Macro:
While using it you get a penalty debuff of 20% less exp and 80% less drops.
It’s very simplistic and feels more like an indevelopment bot. The AI of the macro is awful, buffing happens so randomly that a lot of the times the weaker party members like wizards end up with no buffs and dying constantly. There's no auto party system with this macro, so I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt severe sleep anxiety in fear you'd get disconnected and then unable to get back into your party etc.
So if you wanted your party to last the whole night, it meant you either had to take turns with other party members on who stays awake and manages everything at night, or give out your teamviewer/anydesk to complete strangers in order to ensure they could get you back in or move you incase the party wanted to change spots etc.
I’m aware I could have just not cared about leveling and sleep at peace, but ultimately me and everyone else I either started with, or met throughout the leveling phase just wanted to be done with it because it's dull, it’s slow, it’s boring as hell and nobody wants to stare at their screen for weeks all day every day to watch their character level up.
A slow leveling experience has NOTHING to do with creating a long term and lasting experience in my opinion.
Jobbing, Silks, economy and activities in general:
Jobbing on this server has been the most worthless crap I’ve ever seen on a server so far.
I understand where they are coming from with their attempts to keep the gold value stable and low. But I noticed this isn't about keeping gold value stable. It's artificially difficult on purpose to make gold and there are no silk scrolls because they don't really want you to use your hard earned gold on purchasing silks. In reality they want to pressure you into buying silks with real money, because nobody has gold to pay for anything and because of that fact most people just started trading their items for silks to account or silk items. If you want to make any business here, there will be an immense pressure for you to trade with silks which means you'll eventually have to buy some yourself.
You get about 20mil gold per hour from jobbing, even less if you're a thief. But there are also tons of gold sink systems in the game to suck you dry of your gold, so you have nothing left to trade for valuable items, or items you may want/need in order to improve your character's progress.
You can do a total of 8 FGW per day (2 per grade per day) with 1* dimension holes starting at 3,6mil and increasingly higher for higher grades. (2* is double the price of 1*). Of course with increasing difficulty you need more players to beat it, and thus the gold is split but it's still a lot of gold per day.
You can do 2 Devils Garden per day which cost 7,6mil each (essential to farm coins for your moon set, not doing it hinders your progress). And Blaze dungeon once per day which is split to 4,5mil each, across 8 party members (36 something million gold for the portal)
On top of that you have BOI solo, BOI party, BA’s and CTF’s all needed to acquire Arena Coins which are also needed to buy your moon set.
Jobbing mostly only happens during Special Bargain Goods, in which thieving activity is also the highest. And most hunters don’t even bother to fight/defend the caravan because it’s easier to just afk for free gold without any effort. When the caravan starts you’re being told to be fast, stay at the front and don’t cry about getting robbed. Essentially if you get fucked over in the caravan it’s your own fault because you weren’t fast enough.
Caravans are a chaotic mess because tracing is not allowed so everyone ends up splitting and spreading in panic when thieves are around making it super easy for them to rob people. The turning point for me was honestly when 6 thieves with seal of moon +10 weapons managed to rob an entire caravan of 60+ traders and around 10 hunters who decided it was easier to just rush to the special bargains npc to ensure the few that make it through would net them some income.
Anyone with Moon+10 weapons right now only has them because they threw literal THOUSANDS of dollars at the game to buy the first drops of valuable cards, or entire card sets. Having FGW moon weapons available from the start was the biggest mistake, but it proves how pay2win or money-milking oriented this server and its system is.
Another gold sink are lucky and steady stones. They don’t drop from monsters, you can only buy them at the hotan grocery npc. 2,5mil per lucky stone and 1mil something for steady stones. and lucky powders cost a good amount too. With this fact it’s no surprise people resort to buying astrals (more money milking yay!), because you can barely cover the costs for lucky and steady stones on top of all the other gold sinks.
IP/PC Limits, 3rd party programs & Corruption:
You’re allowed 1 client per PC, 2 PC’s per IP and if you have more than 2 people playing in your household you can send in a ticket to get an “exception”, or in other words prevent yourself from getting banned. Now there are people who apply for such an exception by saying their family is playing when in reality they are running multiple goldbots for themselves because with this macro debuff it's hard as hell to get any drops, stones or elixirs so the more gold bots you have the more resources you can farm.
I’ve also met countless people who are using Keypressers paired with Auto clickers and Target Support setups in order to bypass the macro debuff. I’ve seen these Keypressers shared around various guild discords and the guy who was leading the guild I was in had 3 goldbots himself.
Aside from that there is definitely some form of corruption going on. Whales on this server get away with breaking every single rule. Nobody will punish them and at least one of the GM’s that I know of, snitches out player reports to those breaking the rules and even tells those players who reported them, which then allows said player to harass that person further. (source: I met a whale who was constantly breaking rules left and right who showed me conversations and such with one of the GM’s)
All in all this entire server is tailored around herding ppl into the spending money path. RTM is not allowed here, unless of course the GM’s profit directly from it, in this case, by pressuring you into buying silks in order to get the items you need because nobody can sell anything for gold because there simply isn’t any gold available.
As far as the community in itself goes, I have to say this is probably amongst the worst communities I’ve played with on a private server so far (I have roughly 12 years of pserver experience and thus played MANY different servers). The amount of moronic idiots and people who don’t have a brain, makes me really question how they even manage to lead their real lives or have any money to spend on silks.
Leave your hands off this server. I’m quitting today, not even 1 month after its grand opening and the only thing I regret/feel sorry for, is spending the amount of money I did, in good faith that this could be a truly long lasting experience. But that’s on me, I know.
Good luck to all those who will continue, and even more luck to those who are deciding to start just now. As long as you don’t spend any real money, you lose nothing from trying, just be warned you really won't get anywhere in this server without investing money.
