As a newcomer, i think it is almost impossible to catch up with old players or even get near their level. I think starter pack should contain at least 500 job coin also a SOA gear + weapon and instant level 90, i think there will be more potential for the new players this way.

Yep. SOM is so much better than everything else and their is a couple players nearly full som and atleast most are 5-6 items som +7+ new players have no chance unless the server is going to last another 3 months for them to catch up with JC. And the server will most likely not being active that long anyways. The population of the server went down 700~ in the last week.

If you get lvl 90 instantly + good gear, how would the game still be fun? i'm a newcomer aswell and I love the way the server works. And why is it required to catch up with the old players? They play longer on this server thus that they have better gear thats how it works on every game. Nobody asks you to be as good as the players that play here for a longer time, you play the game to make progress and achieve better gear, stats and more.

SOA gear is not good at all, i didn't ask to catch up with other players of course they must have an advantage because they played for long time. but starting from scratch now, you won't have any chance killing uniques, jobbing as a hunter or thief, or playing CTF. so what is the point of playing the game now?

Simple, solution is giving new players %20-30 def and attack buff for a month or 2. They won't have good gear, but deal and def approximately same damage as old players. Easy solution and if it is fuked up you can remove that buff easily.

yea cuz most of them got items wiped cuz they abused the dll

Actually SOE gear (not weapons) are really close to SOM gear. SOE is like +3.7 and SOM is +4.5 I believe. There is no reinforce boost ATM. SOM weapons are +5.5, so you're still only -2.

To say that you can't compete without SOM is ridiculous. You won't be a tank, and you won't run around owning people. But you can absolutely compete.

Your first priority shouldn't be killing uniques or jobbing as a hunter of thief(you can easily become a trader and join those big groups in downhang if you didn't know). your first priority should be straight up grinding untill you can either gather the good gear yourself or you can sell your gear and buy your better gear later on.
