The incentive is events and increased party gain rates, I thought you knew this. Bumping the rates to 30x is not a solution, I might aswell make Venture instant 85 cap then.

i think it's funny that the old system worked just fine (the way we lvled in old venture), there was no need for inventions : )
that's like having a timid team that plays good football, well, they might not achieve great stuff cause their money isn't much, but they play good football.. so they go away for a while, they come back afterwards with more money! wooot!!!! But now they're playing different football.. what made ppl get hooked up on them is now changed....
this is what you're doing, and then you get a little surprised because "it's what the community wants", well, it's what the community you left behind and loved the server all the way till the end had. "had". You see where i'm getting at?
In football there's a saying that's among the lines of "you don't change a winning team". Last Venture's problem wasn't the leveling system.
About bumping the rates to 30x or making it instant cap, a small intro no matter how small it is is always needed. It's a way to blend new players, hardcore players, casual players, old, and new.
You've got to understand that what a hardcore player does in 2 days, playing 10h each day, takes 10 days, to a casual player, you need to understand that.
And also, you need to get a hold of the timing better mate. Why waste a solid plan on a mid-night intervention.. You shoulda saved your bullets for this thursday for example, create some antecipation, advertise somewhere, get it a little wet you know, so you gain momentum. This momentum is what makes the opening of a server so important, this momentum can be gained with specific timing, but you've got to be aware of that...
Also, the way you dealed with the introduction... you keep on wasting opportunities, you shoulda said:
"Hello dear Venture players (or some bs like that). We've been discussing some stuff about our server with our players through skype and through forums and we have come to a conclusion, some things need to be changed.
In order to do that, and to achieve more friends to play with us, we're changing:

You'd post this in multiple places, maybe even start your own facebook. This is how you create MOMENTUM, ANTECIPATION. Wich is a face of how you work with the peoples Motivation, Excitment, Fear, Expectations. You DON'T need a server to close and open all the time just to get a chance to grab that majority of people....
Meh. This is like a girl who goes down on you, and then when you're going like "Oh, keep on going babe, it feels so good" she says "please don't come in my mouth, it's gross"...
But never the less, good job on listening to people, to your people, we're just discussing details that differ the good from the very good, you know what i mean? But for that you need to plan out things propperly, that's why i was so up my ass about "Organizing things", and "Plans"...

on a side note, something that's very annoying is we all want some nice jobbing and job wars.. the old leveling system and ancient system and whatever was fine, the cost of the soms, the trades.. you didn't need to change that...
all you needed was to get more players and educate them once they're at cap.. with events, starting job shit, guildwars.. etc.. that really is ALL, not more coding or changes....
