hmmm wonder why mine dont stay open then....i even tried running it from a command prompt just to see if there were any errors, but nothing

Well... On my vps it does the same thing so im not sure whats wrong ^.^

btw any clue what would suddenly make me not able to login on my client?
only thing i had done was check out a couple DNS sites to fix outside connection issue...im hoping a complete startover on the source will work.

Ive had my client crash on me but im not sure why but i allways fix it cause of the ip ^^

ya i tried that, tried re-extracting and replacing all files....nothing worked.

So i just deleted everything, now redownloaded, and re-extracted it all...hopefully itll work now.

Just dont get it, had it working for past 2-3 days that ive been working on it.

ok the redownload, and re-extracting worked, so im back in business...now the only thing is it keeps asking me to make a character even though i made one.

Ill try using the other conquer.exe Tiku posted before and see if that fixes it.

Well running as admnistrador didnt worked too.

EDIT: got it working again now...now i can actually begin editing stuff in.

I was actually able to write a few lines of code based on what was already there....not bad for someone whose last experience with actual coding was many years ago in a now extinct language lol.

So exactly what was wrong?

im not sure, but suddenly my client wouldnt login to the server...the server console gave no errors or anything.

I just redownloaded and re-extracted everything (basically starting all over again), but its working now...and now since ive been working on it a couple days ive got a much better idea of what im doing so itll be much easier to work on it.

BTW on the outside connection issue, would enabling DMZ on my router to the computer IP that my server is on work, or do i have to actually do the port forwarding?

Also, once i do that, if i use my public IP for server.dat, would someone on the same network as me still be able to login on the client?

And also the mobs are killing it with one hit. Why?

hmm dunno...must be your source.

I dont have that problem with mine...at first i thought i had same bug as other people where the cows did too much damage, but i looked again and it was right...just seemed like too much cuz my char was such low lvl at the time.

That's cause damage calculations are COMPLETELY messed up in this source. Gear and damage calculations need to be completely re-written to make them work properly.
