A dainty and beautifully dressed Yoona stood outside the big mansion of the prominent Ok Family, without a clue of what exactly she was going to face the moment she stepped in. She clutched her purse nervously, her palms sweaty, trivial problems floating through her naive mind.
"Ah, Miss Yoona, you have arrived." Mrs Ok said welcomingly as she invited the trembling girl into the house. "Make yourself at home, Yoona-shi. Dinner will be served soon." Yoona was astonished by the marvelling grandeur of the mansion, catching all her attention as she half-consciously sat on an armchair. "Do you know why I have called you here, Yoona-shi?" Mrs Ok asked curiously, trying to test the intelligence of the girl in front of her.
"I'm sorry, Madam, but I have no clue why I'm being brought here." Yoona said, being solemnly honest.
"Make a guess, then, child." Mrs Ok chuckled as she saw through the innocence of Yoona.
"I thought maybe...Taecyeon would have something to do with it. I just heard his name today, we're school buddies and all. Don't really know him though." Yoona attempted making a brave guess. Mrs Ok beamed almost immediately the moment Yoona was able to mention Taecyeon's name.
The girl's smart, she's got a strong memory. She's just innocent. Brutally honest as well. She's Taecyeon's opposite. So meek, kind and quiet. Yes, this girl will do.
A tall, towering figure walked into the room, taking a seat next to Mrs Ok. Yoona stood up instantly.
"Taecyeon-ah. Greet Yoona first before you sit down." Mrs Ok nagged as she saw Yoona get on her feet. "She's already on her feet." Taecyeon readily followed his mother's orders as he shook Yoona's hand quickly and sat down. "Yoona's told me that you and her are school buddies for the start of the new year." Mrs Ok tried to get a warm vibe going. "I do apologise for calling Taecyeon back today, dear. You haven't been well enough acquainted, haven't you. My apologies."
"It's ok!" Yoona was immediately waving off the apology, inside her heartm she was a bundle of nerves. Butterflies were floating in her stomach.
"Let me cut to the chase. Yoona-shi, the reason why I called you here today is...like you said, about Taecyeon." Mrs Ok said in a business-like manner. "It is regarding the promise made by your grandfathers many years ago. The promise that, in order for Taecyeon to take over the Ok Group, he will have to honour. This promise, is the promise of marriage." Mrs Ok saw Yoona gasp. "Yes, you are correct. The marriage of you, Im Yoona-shi, and our Taecyeon."
What on earth was going on? Did I just hear the word...marriage?!
