No, a disaster is having them on seperate servers.
I already had it like that and THAT was a disaster. It's all called experience.

A server of Intel i7-920 QuadCore, 1 GBit OnBoard connected at 100 MBit with 8 GB DDR3 Ram and 2x 750 GB SATA II HDDs.

The host has insane reviews and expected up time is 99.9% (No bullshit, the real thing considering some that have had them for 2 years say their server only been down for 2 hours maximum total.)

Since the forum and the Auth server share the same database, this is much faster then seperating the auth server on another server. And connecting to the database from a distance.



Scenario1: Both on same server, server crashes, no botting and no forum (If there is no bot, then having no forum is a good thing, means I don't have to go to the forum and clean 100 spammed posts).

Scenario2: Seperate servers, If server holding site crashes = no botting because the database went down along the site. If the Auth server went down = no botting, because the auth is down.

By experience having Scenario1 works much better for a project like this.

End note, 3 databases? Correct yourself ONE database.
The auth server takes barley ANY memory or cpu or any power for that matter, it is very light.
