I know that you need money to buy a proper ddos protection. But why do you open a server (no offense here) if you can't afford a stable gameplay and marius, you know people these days are jealous and will ddos. As a server owner you should already have the money to protect your server and not get it through donations because this way the server depends on those who donate and they won't even start to donate if your server is offline.

I'll give one example , should make it clear =D
For example i invest my own money into the server, ddos protection , dedicated server, hire some one for a nice website , and latter on every one just stop's playing , i keep investing my money each month for host and other things , finally i realize that no one will join the server again and i've just wasted lots of money.
So yeah , thats the point , no one wants to risk and waste their money , cuz in this damn world money is nearly everything ._.

Agree too, You already knew that your server will success, So why didn´t you just invest the money in a good protection since you get the money back anyway :P This way even more people will join...

I'm just saying, why didn't you buy a protection for like 1 month to see how the server grows. And IF it really grows you could buy another protection from the donations. The way it is now, people will be gone when the server's back up.

Every single minute of downtime let players decide if it's worth to play on a server or not. ^^

I'm not saying that it's not up to everyone him/herself to play on the server, just mentioning that ddos downtime killed a lot of servers with potential.
