I would really like to see this whole thing succeed.
As a player since '09, I've been really depressed and overall disappointed with the declining popularity and quality of the game. I hope that you are ultimately successful in creating a new 9Dragons with a loving community and fair and equitable gameplay; that, my friend, would be a true gift.
I suggest using GC's weekend rates with your own weekend rate bonus of maybe x1-2 higher than that. As these are instituted Friday-Sunday (almost half of the week!) on the official server, it would retain most of the difficulty of grinding, while increasing the pace just enough to stay interesting.
I also have an extreme distaste for three quarters of the server running around with 1,000 base damage weapons refined to +9 without any second thoughts. In the old days, Golden Blossoms with a +7 was an achievement to brag about. I think a large part of this is saturation of the market with BE from the weapons and clothes crafting system. Please vanquish this.
Just my two-cents though. I wish you guys luck in all of your endeavors, and cannot wait to hop on board after release!

I wish one of these will be as a new server:
- oldschool server, with CS cap, using max +9 refinement with default ref rates, with low exp rates. No new content, something like Acclaim's Asura sv. PK everywhere Jinan/Datong+
- GC-type server with high exp, full of new content, high refinement chance. PK: Icy+

If people want a relatively old school server they already have play9d.
Now I do agree thath a cs/db8 lv capped server with no new content is something different. But let's get real, the current community of 9d is no where near what it used to be...
Acclaim was so good because of the high population and because everybody wanted to archieve more... Since play9d released that 600x server, I bet that even the noobiest player would reach HG1+. Meaning we have already seen the game, there's nothing new,especially considering that most of the players passed the game several times...

It will eventually be interesting for a month, but after that it will start dying...
My mare opinion on this is:
-make several Yes/No Polls for each new feature that you can bring, eventually we will get the best
-choose a lower rate for the server and inject 1 EC6 char on every account that was registed before the opening (implying that you made a registration page before the launch)
-always make new resources events with high-end limited time items, this will help/stimulate the community
What I'd like to see:
-latest items_table being used (meaning we have deco's etc from KR/gc)
-no cloth ref
-65k dmg cap
-new skill system
-GC's new dmg system/ increasing pvp dmg (that's if you wish to keep KGs)
-also resources with heaven's weapons. E.g. for ps h heaven sword(not ref) you must get a ps h sword (not ref) 150 pieces of still 100 Bes, etc
-make resources like this: for GL purple set (shining one) you need GL normal set + 600 def set
You can really come up with a lot of stuff to compensate for A/D system.
