im so happy classic servers are being made again just keep finding all these newer servers with all the junk added classic is the best way to go

What about creating a botnet or a credentials stealer? The owners can do much harm to the end-users if they are binding a virus to a already known false-positive and force players to deactivate the firewall or set the application to a white list.

You don't need to screw over your players to create a botnet. Not only that, shouldn't need a botnet in private servers anyhow. Let ur server do the talking rather then trying to get rid of the competition.

It's not like you're screwing them over, you're just enslaving them and a private server is a nice way to get people into your botnet, simply because they already know that some of the applications are flagged as false-positives, and their awareness is diminished when it comes about detecting viruses or infected applications. That's what the botnet owners rely on, and I recall a story where a private server owner was accused of creating and infecting the client with a virus, making everyone who has ever downloaded their client, a part of their botnet, used to attack other servers and asking for cash in order the attacks to stop.

It's because it's a false positive. :p

TrueClassic used the same method for their own botnet to attack other servers haha

Yea I've been seeing that but I get better ping in the US server haha, plus from what I read, if we get enough players we can have server wars haha

Yupp, that is true. But we do need more players, and servers have to be on somewhat equal terms before I do that. Don't want just a flat out domination by one side.
