Just the usual DDoS issues with no administrators around, no ETA given (obv).
Game servers are up as we speak.Quote:
Play9D said there is no ETA , so we will just have to wait . 00:39 AM here ...I will wait 2-3 more hours if it wont be back , then its time to do what we all do , sleep.
The code itself has nothing to do with the attacks, they just make the bots do raw connects to the check state server (it's possible with any open service, especially the fact that it uses a format string to stdout makes it even worse). DDoS is usually handled by teen kids that don't understand security as an overall.Quote:
Considering the archaic code of both 9D server and client and the status of the PS, DDoS attacks seem to be something normal at this stage. Bringing down the servers and the site is more like a protection mechanism, rather than suffering from this kind of an attack.
(Hack the planet :D) - just thought of a great phrase of a good old sci-fi movie.
ty very much sir. and ty for being more careful about your community that the original game ever was . keep up the work you are amazing.Quote:

Really?Quote:

lol, About the kids - some of them may not even know that there's a bot on their PC. But there's a way to prevent or at least to lower the number of those connections. The thing I can't figure out is what has the stdout to do with the worse thing? Ain't it just the socket connection from a large number of PCs? And about the code - I meant it allows all those cracker/hacker ppl to try to ruin the game :(Quote:
