Mhm, I got that yesterday, I just click "quit" and run play as administrator and repeat that process and it will eventually stop and go away.

Try putting the game folder (acid?) on the desktop instead. This directory isn't as restricted.

Also make sure only one instance of the patch GUI is running at a time.

I used to get a similar message to those above, but then I downloaded the "playfix" file and put that into my CO 2 file. This is my first time trying to play on a Pserver and so I followed the directions on [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. I never had an "acid" folder as described above. Not sure if I need one. If I run the "playfix" file as admin, I no longer get error messages and I can get all the way to the login screen without problems. However, when I try to login it tells me "network congestion or server maint.".....any suggestions?

Well I don't play the server. I was making an assumption based on the screenshot directory- and assuming there's a 'game folder'.

I'm not having problems running the play.exe file anymore, that seems to work when I run it out of the folder (after I had used the playfix file) Anyway you might be able to help with the server connection problem?

Choose Quit every time when appear. I had same problem and now it works.

Could it be that update.exe is trying to replace it self while its running resulting in the access denied message?

Hi guys I just wanted to clear it up that if you go into the properties of updatetimer.exe,play.exe, and update.exe Check the boxes for running as admin and compatibility mode: xp service pack 3. After that it should work.

If you're using Windows Vista or 7, you need to right click on update.exe, go to properties, go to the security tab, and make sure every "person" listed has full control on it. After that, run the play.exe again and you should be good.

Also, do yourself a favor and download the client from the home page. Or just go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] other wise you may have some weird issues like I did before I installed the proper client. 1. Your interface will be out of whack when you open the Status tab. 2. You won't be able to equip much of anything. Hope this helps, have fun!

Sadly, the server is dead. Too bad it isn't like the old days.
