The sources are not illegal at all. They have nothing to do with Conquer, you made them yourself, but when YOU USE THEIR CLIENT(Or any part of it), it is illegal.

You are using ConquerOnline client to connect to YOUR privateserver.
Is that legal?
Did you made the client? - No
Did TQ Digital made the client? - Yes

Means,it is illegal to >USE< their client to connect to YOUR privateserver,but not illegal to code an privateserver.
Also,if you now code your own client,you need to make sure it isnt the name ConquerOnline / TQ Digital anywhere in the source / in-game,such as npc blabla,else they can sue you.

The first main rules they mention clearly states that modifying their client is completely illegal.
