How to work the LOFT source as a pro!

hey there i got a question , every time i try to change something in the source and then i start the server its the same , why? o.o

do u run the source from debug folder or release ( btw to see changes run it from release)

i run it from debug but when i tried with release nothin happened, only the black window....

EDIT : ok lol i copied config.ini from debug to release and it works but its the same -.- no changes

copy everything in debug folder into release folder
then rebuild ur project and run it

kk i copied everything and rebuild is F5 right? lol well right now is still the same

make sure you have an connection with mysql,if you now use that. open your config.ini,and make sure everything is right in there,if it isnt connected,as i belive,it will go black and close down,not sure thought,but u can look.

well everythin in config.ini is fine, i can conect and everything but usin the folder release or debug is the same no changes when i edit source lol

btw ty all the ppl who is helpin me xD

Open your source,press F5. The server should open and work fine. Else,I dont know,your source is buggy. <.<

well now its working ^^ i was using steals source(powersource co) but now im usin the original LOTF source and it works XD ty to everyone +thanks to u all ^^

This is Really a Good Guide

I Have Figured out Most of this, However. Portals are causing me headaches lol. Cant seem to make any and have them show on the maps. Did u cover this somewhere? Thanks in Advance

HI emil you seem rly good and i got a probelm I cant seem to connect to my server and I think i set up everythign right its just when i try to log it always says i have a maintence

1. Changed my config and added my ip
2. loged into phpmyadmin and ran backup file
2. Ran my source to make the blackscreen and says i successfuly got it in and got no errors
3. Change my server.dat to my ip ( i have 5017 client )
4. made an account with php admin
5. try logging in but i get a maintance pop up

I really dont know what im doing wrong

Some portals wont work because you did not add them. Im not sure,since I cant look atm ( computer broken ) , it should be a file in the folder where the source is and shit,that is named portal. Just add the mapid,coordx and coordy and it should be working.

Hm.. Im not so sure,but you can test this: Go into phpmyadmin , then into all the tables, not the server files and shit,the other tables,and you should find stuffs where you can write ip adress'es and shit. Write urs there and try that. Also have you opened your ports to the router?

I did open all my ports, but i dont know what you mean by tables I go to phpmyadmin and dont see anything. If you mean the database called phpmyadmin I only see pma_tablecoords and pma_table_info.
