Though your sarcasm is duly noted, I don't think highly of myself, it's just that I deal with this as part of my profession :) I just think idiots who think DDoS is impressive by any standard need to be bitched out a bit, I'm sorry if it came off as condescending, or whatever :)

However what I said to getz was meant to be incredibly condescending.

I can assure you, there is no easy way of mitigating a well prepared DDoS attack, I'm in the business myself (I own a VPS company) and these attacks may be easy to handle, but you don't want to mess with any russian who owns their own 25K slaves botnet.

Very true Nezekan, but I'm positive this one is no where near that size from the fact the servers are still operational.

On another note how about hooking a brother up with a free VPS? :))

Our company has a strong sponsering policy, we only sponser if the project you're trying to start is atleast viable, or interesting research-wise

This is kinda offtopic, but we're located in vegasnap, singlehop chicago and softlayer washington dc. We currently don't sell anymore server though, but support is continued for old clients until our transfer to kvm is finished

Oh awesome, I was using FDCServers for 2 years now, but everytime our load gets high they send us messages saying "We think you are being DDoSed!", when it's quite clear our load is high from userload not an attack :p Would be nice to switch to a host who knows what they are doing, is all, ahwell I'll bookmark it and look into you in the future.

Yeah..really off topic, but I think the topic itself is covered really, it was fucked up to release his information, as much as it's fucked up to DDoS for the reasons given, everyone needs to grow up and get over the childish antics.
