Last I checked they have some pretty decent anti bot coverage. No standard bots should work although that does not discount the possibility of someone creating a bot/hack if they are skilled in reverse engineering or want to invest the time.


No server can claim it is 100 percent immune to such issues but I'm given to understand that L2H has some of the better protection of any binary pserver. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

can you fix the issue where when people try to download/extract it it says there is a virus. because my friend wants to play but he has a company laptop and wont allow him to install it with that 1 file that says its a virus

He just needs to add an exception, the virus is a false positive, nothing more. Its tied to the anti-botting system built into the client, its not something that can be removed.

I am having a issue with the compatibility of the client with windows 8. I have tried countless things with no result. It prompts me with compatibility issue, I run anyway. Everything works fine except when I move the cursor in game my fps drops from 49 to 1-10ish. Only happens on my windows 8 pc. Which isn't a hardware issue because it's more top of the line then my other pc's which run the client smoothly. Anyone else had this issue, or know a fix? I read another post a while back from a guy who had the issue and said its a flash player problem. Something about windows 8 doesn't carry the flash player that's compatible. I really am at a loss. Any help is appreciated.

I believe I read somewhere that if you turn on "trailing mouse" in your mouse options it fixes/helps mitigate the issue.

If you don't mind using the default Windows cursors, here's my workaround. Extract the files into "CO_ROOT_FOLDER/data/Cursor" and see if the problem persists.

This fixed the lag issue entirely. Only problem now is, cursor isnt showing at all until i move onto interface. Like clicking inventory etc. But as I said, the FPS problem is history.

Windows 8 is the new windows vista. Completely unreliable in many situations. I suggest downgrading to 7.

Well windows 8 does suck pretty bad, but i was looking for a less drastic fix. Not looking to spend $100 on a new OS to play a p serv.

Thanks for the help, finally figured it out! Had to redo basically all the cursors..

I might have mislabeled a cursor name. Well, it's good that you got it working.

Windows 8 has nothing to do with Conquer's incompatibility, the client version we are running is now almost 10 years old, hardly surprising that TQ digital didn't plan for the Kernel changes in Windows 8.

Also make sure you aren`t running the client in compatibility mode, it kills FPS horribly. Works wonders on Windows 8.1 Professional.

It's worth taking a look. They did away with the original second rebirth layout and rebalanced different combinations to give more interesting possibilities. Pure fire taos have a magic based FB type skill, waters have weakening spells, archers can penetrate dodge, etc. It's pretty cool to be honest.
