LoL, ok i see what you did.
If you did as you say then there is no
itemtype.dat file in your
*\Conquer 2.0\ini folder, thats why there naked.
I believe I say in the readme to just rename the original
itemtype.dat to
itemtype.dat.4345, that way you have the original as backup.

I use (.4345) to show which patch it's from.

You just need to put my edited
ItemType.dat into the folder then, don't rename it like you state you did.
In your case just take the
.4345 off the end and open your client again.
You can also tell what or which itemtype you have by butting your mouse over it.
The edited version should look like
