What a bunch of bullcrap, you should be glad with Janix and the current team.

There is alot of work which takes place on updates which happens behind the scenes as Janix eluded to, that is big updates which introduce new features to the server, the Pet system for example was completely hand written by Janix behind the scenes. The next big update which he is working on will introduce another new feature which no other server to my knowledge has.

As much as you might think the server is becoming a cash cow, pretty much all of the money is rolled back into the server, personally while I am an admin for the server I have made approximately £0 from Love2Hate, which should be some indication to you as to the status of Love2Hate being a cash cow.

To say that Janix doesn't care is, well disappointing to say the least, you have absolutely no idea how much he has put into Love2Hate and how much he will continue to put into it, despite what you may think.

I personally find it difficult to believe there is ZERO profit from the server, but who knows what they are running and how they are running it. Considering its 1 good server im sure, but those can only cost so much and can only get paid so far ahead. Not saying its impossible, just kind of hard to believe.

As for Janix working on the server though, hes definitely doing his part. It takes a lot of time and work into a server not only to just add the features, but to add them PROPERLY and make sure that no bugs or anything are going to pop up that could potentially harm the server. Typically the testing and perfecting implementations takes longer then actually implementing.

I've been looking everywhere for a true 1.0 server and I finally stumbled upon this!! I wish I knew of this server 2 years back :/

Well i'll be starting my journey tonight once I get home :P workplace ISP is too secure to get around lol

After reading through this thread it seems like Janix is a legit guy and doing his best to keep this thing running, Although I will agree that it is EXTREMELY hard to believe ZERO profit is being made from the server ;)

But at the end of the day when you work as hard as Janix and the team who're keeping this thing alive, they have to get back something for putting up all that effort, so good for them! As long as this doesn't turn into that whole VIP level 1 - 7 crap that TQ started I'm satisfied. I just wish there was a limit to how many DB's can be purchased per month that way the person with the biggest wallet doesnt get a higher advantage, but then again people will find a way around that and make other characters to bypass it so meh..Who knows maybe i'll be throwing cash at the screen LOL

Anyways good job and I will be bringing a lot of oldschool players down here :)

But really though..

If I thought that there was enough call for a US equivalent I'd have done it a long time ago.. ^^

As for the "Zero profit" thing.. Nobody ever said there was zero profit. I'm not sure why people keep re-iterating this. :p

People complain so much about love2hate etc, janix is probably one of the only people in the binary community who actually put effort in hes server and just to do the best he can with what he has, Which has been great and as for money hungry he could of shutdown after the server had a big issue, But what did he do he continue and made hes server still outstanding and continuely developing and making it custom.

New patch released today:

  • Unlimited stamina fb/ss arena.
  1. Accessed from the usual arena, and does exactly what it says on the tin.
  • City defense (progression/waves of monsters/bosses).
  1. Every Wednesday and Saturday at 18:55 (server time) you can access this event from the right General in TwinCity. Everyone must work together to clear waves of monsters and survive. The more waves you clear the better the reward you can claim. This is a none-pk, PvE event. You cannot take potions inside, or revive once you are dead.
  • Moving / changing how vote messages work. -
  1. Vote messages are now displayed at the top of the screen, per player request.
  • Guild PK Tournament - similar to retail version. -
  1. On Mondays and Thursdays at 18:55 (server time), guilds can participate in the registration round of the Guild PK Tournament. Your guild must work together and kill monsters to earn points. Once your guild reaches 500 points it will be teleported outside and will be qualified for the main tournament. Only 2 guilds can qualify. You must register your points at the NPC periodically. They do not automatically accumulate. If you leave the area (or die) you will lose your points gained on your character (unless you register them) - so be sure to register points regularly to prevent losing them.
  2. On Tuesday and Friday at 18:55, the Guild PK Tournament will be held. The two top guilds from registration will be able to compete against one and other. This is a PVP event. Once you are dead, you are out. The aim is to destroy the enemy pole 5 times to win. The winners will receive access to the Guild PK map which holds level 122 monsters (capable of leveling you further than the GW map). Note, that these monsters do not give additional exp, therefore up to 'green name' the GW map is still better to level at. Additionally, there are DB devils and Lab bosses which will spawn here-- again, there is not as many as the GW map holds.
  • Old miner will be added to VIP map.
  1. You can now mine more proficiently if you are VIP.
  • VIP will get auto repair for weapons.
  1. This will cost 2 dbs still. It is just a convenience feature so that you don't have to waste time re-allotting points.
  • VIP will be obtainable for non-donators.
  1. None-VIP players may purchase VIP from the Explorer in the market for 150kk. This price may fluctuate depending on the server economy.
  • Fix dropping items in fb/ss arena.
  1. Players will no longer get stuck in the FB/SS arena.
  • Fix a bug with pet trading.
  • Fix a bug when claiming virtue/DB.
As usual, this patch is subject to change at any time. Any rewards or patch details may be changed without notice, and or based on player feedback in order to improve on it.

Although the patch has been tested as thoroughly as possible, it most probably will contain bugs- and therefore will require as much patience and feedback from you guys to fix and improve on it.

I really hope you enjoy the features and look forward to improving the server further in the near future!

Good job! I would have to say I'm now more dedicated then ever to test out and host my own North American server! All because of the awesome things I saw on this server, so thanks again for the motivation guys!

It's because they're using an unlicensed version of ENIGMA which is in the client. Add Conquer.exe as an exception to your FW/AV. It's harmless.

but the point is : why enigma anyway ?
there is more AV friendly packers/protectors which would eliminate most of newbie reversing attempts with more tricks like stolen bytes, maybe some self modifications, API redirecting and more
enigma 1.0->1.3 had been too old that there is apps and scripts for AUP and guilds for MUP

Because back when we (or rather Lateralus) - packed the .exe, it was the most suitable method for what we were trying to achieve.
