Hey everyone, it's Freelo, a former moderator of V9. I want to shed some light on the current situation with the platform and its owner, Atom. I want to clarify that everything that I am saying below is alleged and are only assertions from my knowledge of what was going on during my time as a moderator at V9
For a while now, Atom had been sending red flags as the platform was dying out. I was recently kicked from my position as a moderator by Atom for speaking the truth about what was happening. The issues with V9 started when active development seemed to stall, and several players reported problems with the platform. This was the catalyst that set things in motion, leading to what I believe is an active exit scam by Atom.
I feel terrible for the developers who haven't been paid by Atom and for the community that has had to endure the silence and coddling from him. As for the staff team, we were put in an incredibly difficult position, with the owner not responding to us while his platform faced heavy backlash. Our decisions may not have been the best, but we were under immense pressure to try and save the community.
I attempted to communicate with Atom about these issues, but it's evident that he doesn't value open communication with the public or even with his staff team. It's baffling to me why he chooses to completely ignore the concerns of the community he built over the course of months.
The main reason I stayed with the platform for so long and defended Atom was that he constantly made promises that things would improve once we launched for Vanguard, and that was where all of his energy was being focused. I hate to admit it, but he convinced me that everything was fine, just as he tried to convince everyone that he was only working on updating the platform for Vanguard. In reality, he was likely doing the bare minimum, updating for patches, ignoring bug fixes, and enjoying the stable income he received from the platform.
As a former moderator, I apologize for not being able to do more to prevent this situation from escalating. I, along with the rest of the staff team, truly believed in Atom's promises and wanted to see the platform succeed. However, it's clear now that Atom's intentions were not in the best interest of the community.
I want to thank everyone who has supported V9 and the staff team throughout this challenging period. I hope that we can all learn from this experience and be more cautious in the future when putting our trust in scripting platforms and their owners. Honestly, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
