Blaming the server because 1 player decides to spam and advertise the server is...I won't even say it, but you get my point. And also to answer what you said "NO one would ever do it" - Many people would invite their friends / advertise a server they like so it gets more populated and active.

Portal is a good mod, he is probably the only mod in SRO section and handling all of it might be hard. I'm sure he'll overlook it.

I agree he's doing a good job as mod, always liked how he handled stuff, but this kind of shows there is a need of more mods if you can spam for 7 days without getting noticed (pretty sure it was more than 7 days)

ok, seems you guys misuderstood me

Recently, many users have been advertising their servers(own) on other threads by spamming the section while having their siggy with their server(again, their own)

The rule about advertising has ALWAYS been on the forum, just that I wasn't that strict regarding those cases

The point is that if you own a server or play on a server, it is EXTREMELY annoying to have your post all over other people's advert threads. That's why I asked Nectix and he reminded me of the siggy rules

I have to think a bit through the issue as I see that people are actually raging over a real point rather than just ranting(yes guys, Im accepting my stupidity in some way)

The point of that advert siggy's on are not well received and just cause reports about them, hence I want to find a way to mitigate this

Then ? still the same issue, you can't force users here to use spoilers if they don't want to.
in my opinion using an advertisement signature should be limited to specific users depending on their infraction/warning history ..
for example: someone spamming with meaningless posts/random questions on random threads for his own purpose (to advertise his own server/project)

solution: warning and he gets all of his/her posts removed.
2nd time: infraction and his options are limited (which means you can't use your signature) for a period of time until your infraction expires, well dunno if it's possible or not tho.

So even if my server is not opened I'll get warned for using the logo as my signature?
