I guess in order to connect on the same machine with the client, you must install VMware and install windows with the client.. I have the server running with no problems.. i set the ip in my media.pk2 127.0.0.1 port 32002 and it attempts to connect.. then right when the game opens to the login screen it closes.. I hope the VM ware works... must go to work now..!!
