I absolutely love all this drama. It really does bring out just how greedy and to be honest, pathetic alot of the players and developers for conquer are.
Am I the only one who doesn't feel botting should have even gone beyond the speed of normal leveling? Not that I'm upset it exists but I played conquer for a HELL of a long time and back then it was either
A: level yourself
or
B: let a bot level you at a slower/less efficient speed *cough* copartner *cough*
While find some of the new bots entertaining and in no way feel that developers shouldn't take advantage of the new possibilities (many of which have been fixed... mostly due to their over use of them), clientless is just NOT a good plan.
I don't know how many of you played back in the days of BJX but if you REALLY think back... it basically destroyed the game for a few weeks, tq got off their ass and banned/botjailed a ton of people and added in a ton of new bot checks which disabled the bot.
Now, I didn't do any real coding back them for conquer but just think for a second... look at the pserver community and how long it took before there was any public blowfish system known meaning servers were simply stuck at 5017 for AGES. Yes, there were a few people who cracked it quickly but it hurt the hacking community as a whole. The difference with clientless botting is it fucks up the entire game, fucks over the players (LOTS of bot jailing characters) and then fucks over the developers because they have to re-write a huge chunk of their programs and then fucks over the users yet again because there will be few/no working bots for a long period of time.
yah, have fun with that.

Ps: Not that I'd be able to crack it but I'm almost looking forward to an encryption change. Thanks to my not leaching stuff I'm sure I could get on someone's good side and get access to a working crypt system... maybe then I could take up the money grabbing side of the co community and clean up while cofarmer is busy rebuilding.
