so let's try your formula..
wins / total ( win + loses ) = PVP%
so for example: you have 7 wins and 2 loses and your total pvp games are 9
7/9 (7+2) = PVP%
7 = PVP%

the correct way is:
wins/total (100) = PVP%
7/9 (100) = 77%
if you want my TUT to be shorter well then i will add the "short formula"
i showed the long way to do it so that everyone will understand..
i think you should have tested your formula before posting

Even though u could really estimate the %tage of your Win/Loss rate by just looking at it, tehe^_^. But for accurate reading, this would be helpful :D.
