Patch 4349 Opening Up Internet

06/21/2007 23:26 jerr#31
guys guys

dunno if it also works for you all. BUT

i also have anantasia's cracked version of v1.10 sv, and in order for sv to turn on after i use CE to load script is:

just enter "1" or ANYTHING else (other than nothing), in the pw section,
and your acc ID in ID section,
and DON'T click start.
just minimize sv and alt-tab to CO and hit F11.

this way it doesnt allow sv to detect anything.

edit: and my sv works as well as ever after this thing, and im almost very sure that if i click 'start" on sv every time, this won't work for me either.
just try out my way of running sv and feedback please.

Well your fix appears to be working, thanks. I recommend you make a new topic for this to get the word around faster.

Its strange though, I didn't patch, or do anything to the client, it just stopped working. I tried patching down and up again as you suggested but that did not help. I tried using the multi client included with your bot, but again to no avail. But strangely what you have supplied seems to have fixed the link, and I see its the same multiclient I was trying to use. Very, very strange.
Oddly enough this worked for me too. No modification to the client but it stopped working. After manually extracting patch 4347-4348 and then 4349 into the CO folder, SV 1.10 worked again. Very strange.

Still have the popup though.

Well its working, thats the main thing, i'll make a topic later.

@ Hustla, conquer is the one that launches the internet window so unless you can find the address that does it I don't think you can stop it.

there's a way to prevent it from launching the windows however most would not want to do it as it involves the registry keys

and yes i've prevented conquer from opening the web page... however it is not an idea fix...

for the pros... my fix comes from the fact that it triggers the default web browser in order to open the page...

i think most would get what i did to fix it...

and no i won't post it here as it involves registry editing which may potentially screw your system if not done properly. i don't want to see people having to reinstall their windows or something because of conquer. it just not worth the time and effort.

ty.

someone earlier in this thread blocked the pop up using kaspersky anti-virus, but i cant run that becuase my 30 day free trial ran out... are there any other programs that can possibly block the browser from opening up...

i've tried some popup blockers but so far none has been able to block it.

cause its not triggered as a pop up but rather a a open url command

so don't bother trying popup blockers..

correct me if i'm wrong :)

Check the common.ini in the ini folder or something for the address. Knowing TQ, they probably stuck it in there.. if it's there, at least you can change the address? :P
