The fact that we don't allow users to create their own scripts has been something we have always been clear about for our almost 2 year existence. And is something you'd be aware of when you initially applied.
Today, one of our staff went over all ~30 open applications and either followed up or gave the application verdict. While we recognize that the time you had to wait for the verdict isn't ideal, this period of time was an outlier, and creating an application in an upset/passive-aggressive tone, acting like we owe you a free trial certainly isn't a great way to improve your chances for an already rigorous application process (~2%)

Appreciate the apology for the wait time, but some parts of your reply feel more like PR damage control than an attempt to address my concerns.
I was fully aware that PSVG doesn't allow users to create their own scripts, and at no point was that a surprise or an issue I overlooked. The point I made in my second application was that based on my new experiences with other communities, I've come to highly value having control over scripts, as it allows me to rely on my own skills as a software developer to fix issues myself. I'm sure I said this was one of the reasons why I was hesitant to proceed without a trial, along with the poor response time.
I wasn't acting like I was entitled to a trial or that PSVG owed me anything. My second application was simply an update to reflect my current stance. I'm pretty sure I even phrased it along the lines of, "Bit of a long shot, but if not, good luck." I don't see how that comes across as demanding or unreasonable, I thought it was pretty clear that I fully expected the answer to be "no".
I don't remember too much of what else I wrote, suggesting you hire more people to process applicants, and complaining about my experience with another scripting community? It wasn't intended to be passive aggressive. Sharing feedback shouldn't be interpreted as hostility. If applications were paused temporarily, a notice or update to applicants would have gone a long way.
I get the feeling that maybe due to the high demand for access, the idea of someone saying they wouldn't join without a trial might be unfamiliar. For me, it's not about the money, but about the principle. I'm not willing to pay upfront for a service when my perception of that service is negative. Refer to my first application, where I mentioned that I declined to join a different scripting community that tried to tack on a 15% "PayPal fee". It's unprofessional, I lost respect, so I moved on from a $100 service to PSVG, €275.
My experience applying to PSVG also felt very unprofessional, and PSVG also lost my respect. Put yourself in my shoes, or maybe I'm just weird - but I can't trust in a service that costs 3x as much as all of the others but can't communicate effectively to prospective customers. Whether I'm an outlier or not, what I was trying to convey was that after such a poor impression, the only way I would have considered joining is through a trial. Anyway, water under the bridge.
