People are entitled to their opinions. Alternatively you could ask him why he doesn't think the server is anything special and what you can do to change that. He doesn't need to run his own server to be entitled to make a comment.

Servers are 50% driven by developer originality and 50% player suggestions. If you ignore players completely then no-one will want to play.
